Over the years in world championship rallying there has been many great cars that have dominated their own era. With great drivers driving these magnificent cars, these cars have left a legacy and an impact to the whole industry. So here are listed 10 best rally cars of all time. (The cars are not in order of preference.) Feel free to comment your own opinions and feedback.


1. Audi Quattro

Audi Quattro, the car that brought four wheel drive to the world of rallying. This Group-B car is famous for its battles with Lancia 037 and the championships won in the 80’s. Quattro changed the whole game in the technology and rally car manufacturing by being overpowered against its rival RWD cars.

2. Subaru Impreza Wrc

The Subaru Impreza Wrc is one of the most iconic cars to compete in the WRC. From the days when Colin McRae won the championship with Impreza 555 to Richard Burns and Petter Solberg driving themselves to victory, the Impreza has left a positive impact on rallying and motorsports throughout the years.

3. Fiat 131 Abarth

4. Toyota Celica

7. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo

Known from the late 1990’s the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution won four driver championships and one constructor championship. Mitsubishi proved themselves to be one of the best manufacturers constantly battling with Subaru and winning four titles in a row.

8. Citroen C4 WRC

The most successful car in the 2000’s era and one of the most dominating cars ever in the WRC, the Citroen C4 is one of a kind. Citroen proved the whole world to be the best manufacturer and having the most successful cars with winning 9 constructor championships overall. The legendary C4 won over 65% of its rallies showing its dominance in the WRC. While being the most reliable car in the series and with many wins with legends Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier, the Citroen C4 is one of the best of all time.

9. Lancia 037

The Lancia 037 was a beast of a car in its time, being the last RWD car to win a rally. The Lancia is remembered for its battles against Audi Quattro producing the one of the most iconic rivalries in WRC.

10. Ford Escort Rs1800
